Mission

To diagnose hypertension, healthcare providers typically measure blood pressure with a sphygmomanometer. Blood pressure is recorded with two numbers: systolic pressure, which measures the pressure when the heart beats, and diastolic pressure, which measures pressure when the heart is at rest. Normal blood pressure is usually around 120/80 mmHg, while hypertension is defined as blood pressure consistently above 130/80 mmHg.
